Thanks to Alan Cole for his presentation on HDR, which also increased our knowledge of the menu capabilities of our cameras as a side benefit. Homework will stretch our skills.

included contributions from Michael Minter while overseas.
Ann P. reported that the AGM is coming up in August, and that with the
relocation of Joy and John, at the very least a new Treasurer and Secretary
would be required. All committee positions would be declared at that meeting
and new nominations in writing would be accepted from now, and including on the
night of the AGM. Ann P. stated that she was prepared to stand again as
President and Ann Anstey declared she would be unavailable to stand as a
committee member. A committee meeting will be required in July to approve the
annual accounts and subscription rates for 2018/9 prior to submitting at the
AGM. John to arrange.
The Best pics from members, of our models from last month, were screened
for comment. They will be loaded onto a USB and given to the models. They can
select their favourite, have them printed and the camera club will pay. Ann
Anstey to arrange.
Projector- Phil reported that he was still waiting for EOFY sales. His
research had highlighted that there were two types – LED/LCD and normal. Both
had an auto start function; the LED had good colour but not long lasting? the
normal were very bright with good contrast and could be viewed under normal
lighting, but the colour wasn’t as good. About $300 difference between the
types.
Alan Cole offered a 19inch Samsung monitor, taken up by Andrew Potts.
John outlined the VAPS Convention and the club’s performance in the
competition, relative to other clubs and our performance last year.
VAPS 10yr. membership bars were presented to Alan Cole and Joy and John
. John presented a Meritorious Service award to Alan Cole for his contribution
to the club and local community in the area of photography.
Ann Anstey reported that Kerry was going well after her surgery which
was not as severe as once thought. The club had sent her a card and flowers.
Capture an Idea – COOL – a three way tie for first place – Joy, Ellie
and Alan Cole.
July challenge – PLANE
Alan Cole presented on HDR
Homework
Using the still life display on the evening produce an HDR image using
the techniques outlined in the presentation. Basically this will require the
merge of at least 3 images – under exposed, over exposed, and normal. If you do not have the software to do this
merge, then Alan Cole is prepared to do it for you. Please send him the 3
images by email as usual but EARLY so that he has the time to do the work.
There was a handout available from Alan with names of the software
programmes and cost, including free versions.
July supper – Maree Hanby
