Yea Carnivale 2016

A big thank you to all the members who helped assemble the display in the Good Shed,  manned the display and  submitted photographs.

The display was open for the opening of the Yea Carnivale on Friday night and then for the past weekend. We had many comments regarding the quality of the photographs and the variety of subject matter. The display is recognised as part of the Yea Carnivale Arts presentation and further cements the club's position as a significant member of the Yea Arts Community in the field of Photography.

For your interest, 227 people were recorded as having visited, with a surge on Sunday . Nearly 100 persons came through on Sunday and overall the display raised $249.
Congratulations to the winner of the People's Choice  - Michael Minter in a photo finish from Phil Glowacki. Well done and richly deserved.

***********************************************

First meeting for 2016 is on Wed 10th Feb at 7PM.

NOTE Venue is Y Water Centre for discussion and photo opportunity at the Wetlands.

Bring along your print for  Capture an Idea ...ORANGE.

We will hold the meeting at the Y Water Discovery Centre and Wetlands. Don't forget your camera,  tripod and flash if you have one. A jacket in case it gets cool would be a good idea. At this stage the weather is looking good.

Yea Carnivalle 2016

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL

The camera club hopes that all its members enjoyed a terrific festive season with family and friends.

Now  - on your marks, ready steady, go !! – It’s Carnivale time.

The camera club will be holding a photographic display in the Goods Shed on Saturday and Sunday the 23rd/24th January.

We would appreciate help to put up the display on the Friday 22nd. starting about 5.00pm. Please indicate if you are free to help.

Likewise, we need volunteers to man the stand on the saturday and sunday, between 10.00am and 4.00pm in 2hr. shifts. Again please let John C know if you are willing to help and your preferred timeslot.

To be successful, we need about 80 photos. All members are encouraged to display their work. In past years, contributors have sent in 8 – 10 photos each, but the more contributors we have, the less each has to enter. It spreads the load and encourages new photos.

If you are contributing, please send in the titles of your photos as soon as possible so that we can prepare a catalogue.

Annual Raffle

This year our raffle is smaller than last years, but we still have 1000 tickets to sell and it plays an important part in sustaining our competition and exhibition.

The camera club will sell tickets on
SATURDAY 19TH SEPTEMBER outside Foodworks YEA
SATURDAY 3RD OCTOBER at the Yea Market.

We need you to help sell tickets.

The local community is extraordinarily generous and when asked will usually buy so please help us to sell these 1000 tickets.

Please let John C know the dates Saturday 19 September or Saturday 3rd October that you are available and time preferences. John will then prepare a roster and let everyone know.

Also all members will receive a book of tickets to sell. Selling these tickets is a significant start and a great help to meet our target.

Thanking you all in advance and expecting a huge response.

READ THIS and DECIDE

URGENT HELP URGENT
Your club needs you.

We need some more volunteers to sell raffle tickets outside the supermarket for 2 hour stints between now and the middle of November. If you can help even for just one 2-hour time slot please reply to this email and let John know.

It’s  only 2 hours so please help the club sell heaps of tickets. The prizes this year are fantastic so the tickets should be easy to sell. Two people per shift makes it more pleasant for all.
