suggestion for a next year topic was requested from each person present. In the
meantime, the competition will start in Feb.2016 with “ Orange”.
This month’s entries on “ Reflect “
were judged – 1st. Michael Minter 2nd. Mary White and 3rd. Joy Clayton.
The room was divided into two groups
for the quiz with a tie being the outcome.
The President canvassed the support
for running the Photobook challenge again next year. This was agreed. For this
year there will be 2 x $100 prizes – a novice and an open category. This year’s
entries were placed on display before collecting and sending to a judge.
Entrants expressed their frustration at less than perfect customer service from
the various printers.
Recent Exhibition. Debbie Redding
from Deb’s Delights, the sponsor, presented the novice prize for the People’s
Choice Award to Kim Wyllie. 329 visitors had gone through the exhibition and
nearly 80% of the raffle tickets had been sold. Unless there is a groundswell
of support, the President has decided to call 2016 a lay year for the
competition and exhibition, in order to allow the members to concentrate on
their photography and grow the club .Pauline asked the reason behind the first
show. Judy Hoffman had organised the first show and competition, from which
seed had grown the camera club. Today the show supports the competition
financially; it creates a new activity in town for the visitors and it promotes
tourism to the town and local businesses.
